Years Fifties Seventies

I was born in Oria Valsolda, the first of six siblings, in a traditional (and beautiful) family (mother being a housewife and father was a great figure in the Catholic world). I studied at the Luigi Bocconi University in Milan, where I graduated in Economics with a thesis on regional development. Subsequently, I attended a postgraduate course at the University of Paris IX Dauphine where I obtained a Doctorate (DEA) in Development Economics. I then started my academic career, which was what I dreamt of doing in the future, at the University of Paris IX Dauphine, directing a working group dedicated to the analysis of economic development processes in Southern European countries. Back in Italy, I became an assistant at the Institute of Economics of the Luigi Bocconi University.

Seventies Nineties

In the following years I worked in the Project Division of the CERPI Research, Consulting and Engineering Company in the preparation of development programs and projects in African and Latin American countries. In those years I also carried out assignments on behalf of select United Nations agencies (UNDP and UNIDO) in Central America and Panama. These experiences have helped  broaden my cultural horizons and also my professional skills. In 1990, I was selected by the European Economic Commission (EEC) as a member of the Executive Training Program and called to carry out my activity in Japan, at the local industrial association KEIDAREN, to study the Japanese economy and the relations between the EEC and the main Asian countries. During this period, some of my research and studies have been published by major Japanese business journals. Alongside these research and study activities, I conducted  lectures at the Sophie University of Tokyo. Surely, the Japanese experience has made another great contribution to my personal and professional growth.

Upon my return to Italy, I was hired by ENI with the task of representing the group and the investee companies at the Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs). In this context, I promoted the presence of the ENI Group companies across various countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia. In these countries, I worked on programs and projects in the Energy, infrastructure and Petroleum sectors, identifying the sources of financing and following their subsequent implementation. During this period, I also carried out assignments on behalf of the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank in the analysis and evaluation of projects in different sectors of the developing economies. I also collaborated in drafting of foreign debt restructuring programs for countries in financial  difficulties.

Nineties New Millennium

At the end of the Nineties period, I founded Guizzetti & Associates, G&A, a Consulting Company in Washington D.C, USA, to promote and support the internationalization processes of Italian companies and their penetration in the markets of Emerging Countries. Furthermore, G&A has collaborated with numerous  multinational companies (EPCs, construction companies, project promoters) and with few of the main American and Canadian Investment funds in M&A activities and in the financing and implementation of programs and projects in the Energy and Infrastructure sectors. In just a few years, G&A has become an important intermediary for investments in Emerging and Developing Countries for many Italian and international companies.
